Current Activities and Future Plan
Goal:
Equitable access to HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support services for MSM and TG
populations.
Objective:
To improve the sexual health and
general well-being of MSM and TG through a holistic HIV prevention program.
Strategy 1: Implement targeted behaviour change approaches for MSM and
TG that emphasize risk reduction and promote safer sexual practices.
Activities:
1)
Community
and peer facilitators conduct individual and group-level outreach to MSM and TG.
Peer
and community facilitators provide sexual health and risk reduction education
to visible and discrete MSM and TG. IEC materials is based on KANHNHA strategic
behavioural communications package. Each peer facilitator is expected to reach approximately
30-50 individuals per month. A community facilitator mentors and supports 2-4 peer facilitators at any
given time.
2)
Mapping
of the demographic, behavior and location of MSM and TG populations.
Because
of the changing nature of these meeting places, a mapping exercise every
quarter is
conducted in order to better understand MSM and TG sexual networks, to further
refine and/or expand coverage areas and to reduce overlaps by activities from
other partners.
Social Marketing funded by PSI Cambodia, the main core activities are: Social Product OK Plus, Lubricant, Referral, Conduct Outreach in community.
Today, KANHNHA continues to
implement the prevention intervention and care and support by working closely
with community people and actors. KANHNHA is an independent and non-partisan
dedicated to improving the status of Most At Risk Population in Cambodia.
KANHNHA reached hotspots 41,
reached 900 target groups, referred 700 MSM/TG for STIs and 880 MSM/TGs for
VCCT.KANHNHA distributed 35,337 condoms and lubricant for free and sold 22,800
condoms and lubricant, 6,000 Lubricants sold and free 2,000. KANHNHA’s MStyle
Program was implemented in Kean Svay District that covers 11 communes and 43
Villages that cover on hotspots 41 and 15 communes in Lvea Em District.
Currently Activities, KANHNHA
focusing on networking by working link with authority, stakeholder, Royal
Family. For Empowerment KANHNHA link with all commune level, stakeholder,
private sectors, NGOs partner. And for Advocacy KANHNHA involve with all
relevant with school, health center, communes level.
